"I'm bored of cheap and cheerful, I want expensive sadness"

I'm worshiping at the temple of Alison Mosshart at the moment. She must be currently the coolest woman in rock and roll. I'm really loving the latest The Dead Weather album and hoping The Kills will release a new record soon. Oh to be a talented, hot rock goddess, jamming with the guys, touring the world, chain-smoking, drinking tequila and habitually clad in gold Dior boots.

"Nobody's happy in a poodle skirt and a sweater set!"

Next month I'm going to the Vintage Festival at Goodwood and I'm so excited. Spent the last few days online trying to find the perfect dress to wear and... i have fallen in love!
This "Soda Fountain" dress in ginger by www.modcloth.com is absolutely gorgeous, and i think it would look amazing with my red peep toe wedges or some red pumps. I think it might be a real pain in the arse to order and have shipped over here though, so I'm still contemplating it for the moment.

Whilst looking for dresses I’ve been inspired by the film Pleasantville, which is one of my all time favourite films, if you haven’t seen it I highly suggest you do. Not only is it a great original story, and very aesthetically pleasing, it also says some really important things about gender, race and identity. I really could talk about this film for hours, but instead I’ll post some of the beautiful imagery  :-)

Jeffrey

The reason I haven’t posted anything for a few weeks is because I’ve been feeling especially sad. On the 4th of July I had to have my beautiful cat Jeffrey put to sleep. She was given to me by my parents for my 5th birthday, and this June she was 20 years old. It's been really hard adapting to life without her, she was such a wonderful companion.

Here are some of the things I will miss most about her:
Our night time cuddles in bed
Her ridiculously loud meows
Her attitude towards Ralph
How she used to sit with us at dinner
How her bell jingled as she came down the stairs
How she used to sit on people who didn't like cats
How she bowed her head so I could kiss it
Giving her biscuits before bed
The cute noises she used to make when she was asleep
How she loved me more than anyone else
